Protean Reform

Tate Modern Case Study

In 2009 the traditional metal stud and mdf walling in the two temporary galleries in the Tate Modern was replaced with the Protean Reform modular system.

This extensive installation across the whole of the 4th floor is regularly reconfigured in a clean and simple process, utilising an mdf cladding with overall paint finish.

The seamless look and constructional integrity of the walling remains the same however instead of disposing of the traditional walling on a 4 month cycle, Protean Reform now delivers a material reuse of up to 98% on each reconfiguration – saving money and the environment.
